Impact
We collaborate with philanthropic donors and organisations and help them back meaningful, high-impact work and science for the benefit of patients, a healthier society and the public good.
Building legacy and impact together.
We work alongside donors and the teams they fund, from first idea to lasting results.
Purpose-built AI tools and programmes, supported by our research and proprietary data, aimed at enhancing the impact of philanthropic giving.
Blended with commercial and impact capital, to maximise the development and impact at scale of emerging science and technology.
Supporting next-generation Science & Medicine.
ALTs Works, our applied science and field-building initiative, shapes, designs and helps deliver high-impact programmes with forward-looking individuals, families, foundations and philanthropists. A host charity holds the money and makes every grant.

More diverse, better-used biomedical data for the AI era: sharper diagnosis, personalised prognosis, improved treatment response and faster development of new medicines, including for the populations and diseases research leaves out.
Most biomedical data comes from a narrow slice of the world's population. Research and AI built on it serve everyone else less well.
Commons Health is a philanthropic programme, built with a US philanthropic partner, to fund the shared data infrastructure research needs. It works across rare and paediatric disease, cardiometabolic disease, autoimmune disease and neurology.
What ALTs does. We act in an advisory capacity: scoping where evidence is missing, designing the programme and its governance, and bringing institutions and funders together. Our partner holds the funds.
Commons Bio, an ALTs Ventures company, works in the same field. It receives no programme funds and uses programme data only once published, on the same terms as anyone.
Proving that organoids, organ-chips and computer models can predict how medicines act in people, to bring safer treatments to patients sooner, cut costly trial failures and reduce animal testing.
Therapies can now be built for a single child's mutation, but each is still a one-off. A programme is planned to build the precedent and shared data that make them repeatable.
